In the best case scenario, you’ll want to downgrade to a version of macOS that you downloaded via the App Store, as this means you’ll be able to re-download the installer via the App Store. You’ll also need the version of macOS that you want to install. Just be aware that formatting this drive will wipe everything from it! If the USB drive contains anything that you want to keep, then make sure you move or copy it to a safe location before proceeding. If you don’t have a Time Machine backup, then downgrading is going to be more complicated, as you’ll need to create a bootable installer.įor the best results, you’ll need a USB flash drive with at least 12GB of memory.

Once you see the macOS Utilities screen, select ‘Reinstall macOS’ and then click ‘Continue.’.Restart your Mac, while holding down the ‘Shift+Option+Command+R’ keys.Hope that helps a bit, and sorry for the wall of text as I'm on mobile. If you’re on High Sierra 10.12.4 or later, and you want to revert to the version of macOS that shipped with your Mac, then you’re in luck! This is one of the easiest ways to downgrade your Mac: Another thing to keep in mind is dongles/adapters you'll need to invest in some USB-C to A adapters to use your elicenser and soundcard, but again, no problems whatsoever with that. Not sure if those kinds of things bother you but no effect on performance.

The GUI can be a bit different, I've noticed zooming in/out using the G and H keys (or whatever your preferred shortcut may be) isn't as smooth or quick as on PC. But, as I said, no longer an issue with a recent OS update. You can find more info about it if you're curious through a Google search. There was an issue with some T2 chip that caused audio dropouts but a recent OS update addressed it - it had to do with the machine pinging a server to sync date/time.
